We asked…and you all ANSWERED!
This year, in honor of all the incredible moms in the world, we wanted to hear what makes your mom so special. We asked you to tell us about a fond memory or a key lesson you’ve learned from the mother figure in your life.
We got a HUGE response – you all have incredible women in your lives, and such heartfelt and cherished memories with them! It was so difficult to pull out just a few of them to share…if we could, we’d share them all (but then this post would be ridiculously long)!
But maybe we’ll add a few “Memories with Mom” to our ongoing newsletter, to keep the love going all year!
Without further ado, let’s hear it for MOM:
Mom loved crafting of all sorts!! She belonged to the club craft monthly and drove my Dad crazy!! Thanks to her and my grandmother I love to sew and knit!! Now I get to drive my husband crazy!! HAHA

My Mom taught me to crochet, the first needle craft I learned, and from then on I learned many other needle crafts and to this day I practice all of the needle crafts she taught me.

My most memorable memory is when we got glamour shots and they did our hair and makeup the same.

One of my favorite memories is traveling with my Mom. We would sing songs, laugh together, snack on Chex mix. She would share stories from her childhood and tell us some of her Dad’s funny sayings.

Going Sunday shopping after church with her and having lunch at the Woolworths little in store diner.

Mom and I fishing to catch perch and sunfish. Seeing who could catch more using the same worm. Yes, it is a bit gross but we fished all day long, caught tons of fish, and laughed the whole time.

My best memories of my mom are the ones in which she took time to show me how to make things- sew, embroidery, quilt, bake a cake, garden and can along with many other homesteading projects. These are all special memories that I cherish and use to this day as my mom passed away last December.

Crafting. From baskets to felting to sewing and more. I now take care of her as she once took care of me.

Baking Rhubarb Custard pies ❤️
Diane D.

Making dozens of Christmas cookies for open house after Christmas Eve church services.
Dorothy H.
My best memories is when she was the leader of our girl scout troop! From Daisies to Juniors, we were always crafting and doing so many fun things! We actually learned skills instead of being passed along to get the badge.

One of my best memories with my mom is when we would do scrapbooking classes together. It was so nice going down memory lane looking at pictures.
